As we near the end of the year and embrace the arrival of the summer season, "Why Do I Need to Wear Sunscreen?" is designed to help young children with autism in overcoming their reluctance to applying sunscreen. It explains why wearing sunscreen is important, what can happen if they do not wear sunscreen, and gives some suggestions on what to do if they do not want to wear sunscreen.
This social narrative incorporates realistic photos that appeal to children with autism and is written in simple language.
A 1 page no staple mini book is included to help review the concepts. Book can be folded and then colored in by the child for an opportunity to generalize and review the skills introduced in the social skill story.
