This is my first year teaching. I knew it would be rough but nothing prepared us for this year. We have COVID restrictions and just went through a category 2 hurricane. This year is tough but nothing that outshines my love for my kids. I work it a title one school which is so rewarding but difficult financially. I have already spent over $1500 of my own money to supply the students with what they need and make our classroom their home away from home. Our district gave us $285, thankfully, but after Hurricane Sally we are not allowed in our rooms. I used this money to buy all new activities and supplies for our new temporary room until we can move back into ours.
