Description

Here is a more detailed course on the topic of how to write better sentences that includes studying sentence structure, the order of sentence placement in a paragraph, using varied sentence types, compound vs. complex sentences, using active voice, clarity of ideas, and more.

The goal of sentence and paragraph writing is to improve communications skills and make one's message more concise and clearly understood. If language is anything, it is communicating an idea clearly enough that your audience or receiver will have no doubt what you mean. While there can be a variety of subjective interpretations, learning to write clearer and more active voice sentences will take you a step further toward improving your communication.

Age Level: This course is more detailed than our shorter mini lessons so it will take you a bit longer to get through it. It is designed for both Middle school students and highschool students, we well as adults who want to use the course to bone up on your own language and sentence-writing skills.

This course is delivered via a link and is an interactive course complete with short quizzes and games and a final exam. It also has a PDF file that you can download if you would like to print it out or open up the file to study each part more closely.

Homeschool Suggestion: If you are using this for homeschool education for kids, I would recommend working through the course yourself first to familiarize yourself with the material, and then teach the concepts or sections one lesson at a time to your child.

Use your best judgment in delivering these lessons to kids. The key in good instruction we teachers know is to challenge kids enough to keep them working toward a higher goal while not giving them so much at a time that they are overwhelmed or frustrated.

If you divide the lesson into parts, it should be perfect for homeschool lessons that you give your child one piece at a time.
