Description
Here is one of our shorter snippet videos (only 1 minute) that shows students who love to play computer games how to improve their game!
Suggested Extension Activity:
Use the short presentation video as a writing prompt, then have them practice the steps of writing by listing the steps, creating sentences based on the steps in order, and then writing a full paragraph with their own ideas throughout the writing.
Students should feel free to either agree, disagree, or insert their own ideas as gamers as to how to best improve their gaming skills. Some kids are experts at this so let them feel free to include their own opinions, since it is a subjective topic. But remind them to always back up their writing with supporting sentences and evidence. We discuss this in more detail in our "Steps of Writing" module!
This exercise will emphasize the thinking skill of analyzing and how even a simple process lesson can spur middle schoolers' imaginations and inspire them to write something awesome!

What is the purpose of this course?
This is a short video that can be stopped or started as students gather information mentioned in the text. It is meant to be used as a jumping off place for brainstorming by the use of a process lesson.

How should it be used by teachers or homeschool parents?
You can use it in any way you see fit to benefit your child. But I suggest using it to teach how to create a paragraph using something they know well-computer gaming.
