I have been teaching art since 2010. First at a museum, then in the community and I completed the trifecta by starting to teach in a school system in 2014. In 2018 I was awarded Teacher of the Year by my previous school, which for me as an art teacher, was a huge accomplishment. I take pride in my job and try to incorporate multi-curricular aspects in all of my lessons, but creating relationships for me is more important than anything. Art, for me, is an essential form of therapy that students today need. Good? Bad? Nah. We are just creating and learning over here!
