Description
This document shows how I took screen snips from different DBQ's from the Online DBQ Project and adapted them into interactive lessons that would better ensure real learning took place in my classroom. I personally found that using the online DBQ's in my classroom mostly led to a disengaged student body that was incredibly bored, would copy and paste answers into the textboxes, and generally have a bad classroom experience. By taking screen snips of some portions of the DBQ's and then adding interactive classroom activities and a simple but effective writing task as an assessment for learning, my students had a much better classroom experience, far more learning took place, and I had a much better assessment of their learning and their skills (e.g. their actual grammar, spelling, and punctuation knowledge, when they can't just get a device to fix these for them; I didn't grade on these but would mark them on written work and return their written work with my notes.)

This document shows you how to adapt the useful, good parts of a DBQ while not taking teaching, student group learning, or real assessments of ability out of the classroom.
