Description
An agent of socialization is one that teaches about society. We become who we are because of multiple influences. Many lessons are direct and overt, others, are indirect and covert, a part of the 'hidden curriculum." For example, while schools meet the standards and teach reading, writing, math, etc., they are also teaching students how to interact with and get along with others, waiting your turn, and other manners that are not part of the written curriculum.
What follows are seven questions that guide the learner through a better understanding of the concept of "socialization." These questions may prime the students for a discussion or for writing an essay on the topic.
