These problems are not for the faint of heart. it is merely a drop in taste to what my material looks like. This is merely what I give on the first day to ensure students understand operations.
A sneak peek at the level of difficulty of my problems. They are designed to be harder than a typical textbook, a true honors course.
To me, honors does not mean, going through a textbook at a faster pace than an algebra 1 course, it means doing work that is exceptionally harder in difficulty and challenges students to think far more critically.
A short story: One of my students wanted extra problems to practice. They said the algebra 1 textbook problems were far too easy in comparison to my problems. They needed to use an algebra 2 textbook and still found most of those problems easy. That is the caliper of students my material produces.
