This creative Space Race Project has differentiated options to best fit your students' needs. Are you looking for project-based learning for social studies or STEM? This Space Race Timeline Research project comes with instructions for chunking and scaffolding so that students are not overwhelmed.
The final product will be a student-created timeline. This is great for helping all students access grade level content! Differentiation is built into the design of this project.
Best of all, a digital option for this Space Race Timeline Project is included via Google Slides!
Students will research events from the Space Race such as Sputnik, the creation of NASA, Apollo 11 mission and the moon landing of Neil Armstrong, Apollo 13, the voyages of John Glenn and Yuri Gagarin, and more!
This resource includes printable timeline templates, a digital option, two grading rubric options, and an answer key.
This Space Race project is great for US History and STEM!
How to use with Lower Level Students:
-Project Description includes a 3 step process for completing the project. Have students start with step 1 (putting the events in chronological order), and give assistance as necessary. When students are finished with the first step, they can move on to step 2.
-Students can use the digital version so that they can move the topics around easily when putting them in order by date.

They must put them in chronological order, give a 1-2 sentence description of the events, and include a drawing or image of each event
