Description
Guided Reading Lesson Plan - fuel for actual instruction and discussion. This lesson is less to do about the Executive Branch as it was originally designed and more to do with its modern context. We discuss the role of the presidency throughout history, and explore the scope of the presidency's powers versus other influences.
I have pioneered what I call the "Rock Drill" method. The guided reading winds everything downward to penetrate as deeply as the pages will allow. Instead of familiarizing the students with terms first, the terms are unearthed as the guided reading expounds upon the concepts that are crucial to understanding whatever concept you are introducing. This encourages the students to freely associate information into whatever context he encounters.
