This product includes 1 social story that focuses on feeling lonely. Vocabulary that is reviewed and discussed in depth include " feeling lonely, alone, feeling insecure, anxiety, depression, positive self-esteem, and negative self-esteem.
Students will also learn about the following " things that could make someone feel lonely, what someone can do if they feel lonely, what it could lead to if someone feels lonely, how you feel when you have negative and positive self-esteem, and how to build self-esteem. While these areas are discussed, students can engage in a conversation with their peers and answer the comprehension questions that are shared throughout the product.
One social story that focuses on a student feeling lonely with peers at school is included in this product as well. The social story includes comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters. This product encourages students to understand how someone would feel if they were lonely, why they should include all their friends and not just a select few, how to communicate with your friends how you are feeling, etc.
At the end of the product, you will find 4 role-playing cards that relate with feeling lonely. Students can role-play what the situation and talk about how they would feel if they were in the situation with their peers.
