***This resource is also included in Google Slides! Text boxes have already been created to make it easier for you and your students! Each slide includes two instruction solution tabs for when students accidentally delete text boxes and when they want to zoom in (to enlarge worksheets). It's super helpful for students who are not that familiar with how to use Google Slides or need the extra assistance.

This resource includes two of the same Figurative Language in Music Worksheets except one of them is differentiated for lower-level students.

▶️ Worksheet #1: This worksheet contains 9 song lyrics with no guidance or support. Students who receive this worksheet will need to determine which figurative language types are in the song lyrics on their own.

▶️ Worksheet #2: This worksheet contains 6 song lyrics (same lyrics in Worksheet #1). It also includes guidance by providing students with a list of the figurative language types and their definitions on the side of the worksheet. Students who receive Worksheet #2 will have access to the different types of figurative language and their meanings.

► For both worksheets, students are asked to identify, underline, and specify the type of figurative language used in the song lyrics. These worksheets feature the following figurative language types: simile, metaphor, onomatopoeia, personification, hyperbole, and idiom.

► An ANSWER KEY is included and lists the correct figurative language types for the song lyrics. The figurative language examples have also been underlined for your convenience.

► Worksheets are excellent for formative assessments, small group instruction, literacy centers, independent practice, assessments, morning work, homework, etc.!
