The first presentation (HOLIDAYS AROUND THE WORLD) includes belief, symbols, and traditions of Winter Holidays associated with different religions: Ramadan, Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa. It includes a student worksheet and a key. The presentation can be done as a class or you can assign it to the students and they can work on it independently.
The second presentation (ON THE MAP) includes a link to an interactive map, where students can click on different points on the map and read about how religious holiday traditions differ from location to location. How Hanukkah is celebrated differently around the world, how Ramadan differs from region to region, and different Christmas traditions around the world. There are also non-religious winter holidays listed on the map. Some points on the map include: Diwali, Chinese New Year (Spring Festival), Dia de los Muertos, etc.
The information on the cultural traditions around the world is on the link to the interactive map, but it is also in the presentation with pictures. Students can access the information either way.
It includes 33 different cultural traditions around the world.
