Course Layout
Story
Each lesson begins with a short story carefully crafted to take just a minute of your time to read - making it easy to fit into your busy family schedule. It's a beautiful opportunity for you and your family to sit down together, sharing a story that brings to life the intricacies of family dynamics. These tales revolve around relatable characters who explore various aspects of household activities, from cooking and cleaning to organizing and planning.
Let's Talk About It
Following each story the there are discussion prompts. This is a great opportunity to talk about how your own family accomplishes similar tasks. Talk about the things you do well, and areas that need improvement or extra help.
Let's Try It
Finally, there is the "Let's Try It!" section. This features practical suggestions for your family to experience the lesson firsthand. Are the dishes piling up? Read the story about learning to do the dishes, discuss the importance of everyone chipping in, and then go and do the dishes together. Throw on some of your favorite tunes while you are at it.
Our course intentionally avoids prescribing or teaching a single "right" way of doing things, recognizing that every family has its own way of functioning. Instead, we encourage you to seize these moments as opportunities to teach your child how your family navigates everyday tasks. Whether it's setting the table, cooking a meal, or keeping their living space tidy, your child will learn through the lens of their family's traditions and values.
Notebook
There are simple journaling pages included at the end of each lesson. You can print off a copy for each person in your family if you wish to use them as a curriculum in your homeschool. Each person can take turns reading and following along, and then complete a journal prompt at the end of the lesson.
Thank you for choosing us to join you on your home economics journey, where your child will not only develop essential life skills but also forge stronger connections within the family unit. Together, you'll build a foundation of responsibility, empathy, and collaboration, fostering memories that will last a lifetime.
