Teaching students how to read and properly take medicine according to their prescription is a skill that is not traditionally taught in the classroom environment. Helping students acquire this skill can fundamentally help to increase their ability to live a more independent life in the future. By simulating the medicine taking experience with colored beads or pieces of candy, teachers can provide a safe and structured environment to help students practice skills like reading a prescription label, counting pills, and placing them in the correct area in a pill organizer
