Description
This geography unit helps you assess your students' knowledge while giving them the practice they need to learn about the basic map elements (coordinate grid, cardinal and intermediate directions, title, compass rose, scale, key/legend with symbols).
The fun and engaging worksheets are a great addition to any social studies unit. Each worksheet transforms your class into an engaging classroom. Introduction to Map Elements
It has a brief history of the subject, with an overview of all the most important points. It also includes diagrams and illustrations to help illustrate what they're learning and make it more fun.
Engaging Activities
✍️ Identify the elements of the map
✍️ Color the items based on the given instructions
✍️ Answer the questions using the (4) directions: North, East, South, and West
✍️ Create your own map using the given elements
✍️ Connect the picture to the correct statements
✍️ Cut out the direction names and paste them to the right points onto the compass rose
✍️ Cut out the 5 treasure icons and paste them where the 5 treasures are located
✍️ Study the map and answer the questions that follow
✍️ Draw a compass rose with the cardinal and intermediate directions on it
✍️ Follow the directions to locate the treasure
✍️ Arrange the seating arrangement of the students using the given directions
✍️ Multiple choice questions
✍️ Follow the instructions in each number and do what it says
✍️ Answer the questions briefly about the map elements
✍️ Find where the country is located and circle the correct answer
Answer Key to Activities
All Science Activities include an answer key that is available as PDF and Google Slides. The answer key is a valuable resource to use in the classroom, or at home, as they help students learn how to explain their answers, check if their explanations are correct, and improve their knowledge and thinking skills.
