Description
Each year I ask my students to create a math game and share it with the class. They always supersede my expectations by creating fun games that can be used in centers with their peers. This project is also scored as a major grade.
This activity includes:
-Note home/Activity Description (2 per page)
-Game Identification Cards (4 per page)
-Peer Review Writing Worksheet
-Scoring Sheet (2 per page)
-Teacher Score Sheet/Table
-Notice Home/Reminder (4 per page) for students who have not completed the project
-Samples of student created games
This activity can be used with students of all grade levels. The games students create depends on their own skill level and the materials they have. I try to show students pictures of some of the games that other students have made, and allow them to use their imaginations to create a game that they will share with the class. After the presentations are done, the games will be used as center activities for a week or so, before they are given back to students.
