These Reading Comprehension mini books are the perfect study guide to help young readers learn the basic sight words and help use their imagination to understand the beginning learning stages of reading comprehension. Each book has eight sight words to learn for the week. (*If your reader is struggling with the words after the week is over, the material can be used for the course of multiple weeks for repetition.) The book has each sight word into a descriptive sentence that the child will draw into the box above. Example: If the sentence is, 'I have AN orange.", then the child will draw a person/orange or just an orange to show they understand what the sentence is saying. Pictures may vary from child to child. Underneath the sentence are lines created to help the student rewrite each sentence to help with hand coordination skills. At the end of each book, a spelling list is provided so the child can find each bolded word throughout the book and write them on the lines.
Additionally, I have included spelling word flash cards and practice pages that I have created to add to your lesson plans. They are sold separately or as a bundle in my store. All books in the packet can be folded at the center and stapled if you choose to do so. The first page of each booklet can be cut and pair with colorful construction paper for a little fun with reading.
