Description

This is a packet of important quotes and questions for each reading section of Station Eleven. This allows students to dive deeper into the reading as they go along, and it allows them to sift through the many messages in the novel. These can be handed in as one big grade at the end of the novel, or they can act as homework and discussion questions.

Example Question:

'The Theater"
1. The novel opens with a performance of King Lear. King Lear is one of Shakespeare's most
famous and darkest tragedies. In the play, Lear wants to retire early and split his inheritance between his three children. He decides to create a 'love test" to see which of his daughters loves him. Cordelia refuses to participate and is banished. The two other daughters get her share of the inheritance, and they turn on their father. Lear is then left to go mad and discover what matters most in life. Knowing this, what do you make of the use of Lear in this section? What links could there between Arthur and Lear? What could this novel be about in terms of meaning and message?

Included in this product:
1 PDF file with instructions to students and close reading questions dividing by sections in the novel.
