Description
This is a great activity for students when they have read through any number of Books 1-12 and have been investigating characterization, inference, and literary devices of flashback, imagery, and symbolism. After reading Books 1-12 of The Odyssey, this activity asks students to create a comic strip depicting one of Odysseus's island visits to show their understanding of the text and the literary skills in the unit. This document is editable and includes a rubric and brainstorming handout.
*I teach general and honors courses, so the general students do not read the entirety of The Odyssey. This is a good activity for material reinforcement and curriculum spacing between the two courses.
