Description

Mold making is an advanced use of 3D printing. Casting with cement, plaster or metal is a time honored manufacturing method. With 3D printing you can now quickly go from CAD to final cast with no messy silicon molds. This activity walks you through the steps for designing a candle holder in TinkerCAD, through 3D printing in flexible filament and final casting.

TPU filament does not react to cement or plaster, and release clean when sprayed with vegetable oil.

You will need a 3D printer that can print in TPU / NinjaFlex flexible filament. Check with your printers support to make sure you can 3D print in this material. If you want to print in ridged material you can, but you will have to cut the mold away latter.
