@amber-nelson-2My students come from all over the world. They are all recent immigrants to the United States who are now facing the toughest years of schooling in a new language. My students struggle with academic content because of the challenge of learning a new language and academic content in that new language at the same time. I teach refugees and asylum seekers from Nepal, Burma, Central America, Syria and Congo to name a few places. They love to learn, and are appreciative of their opportunities in the United States.
