Description
While aquaponics benefits are becoming well known, there are disadvantages of aquaponics that require exploration and consideration as well. Aquaponic Parasites and liver flukes in humans are major concerns to look out for in aquatic ecosystems. Liver Flukes are an uncommon, yet present danger in aquaponic agriculture. In this lesson plan, students will be introduced to the liver fluke life cycle, understand why liver flukes are dangerous, and how to avoid liver flukes in an aquaponics system.
