Description
Bingo is a fun way to practice phonics and decoding skills with beginning readers. This can also be used as an informal assessment at the beginning of the year to get an idea of your students reading skills before you have diagnostic data. Bingo is generally played individually but you can partner students up as well to encourage discussion and consensus about the word spellings. This is an excellent game to play whole class but can also be used in small group or reading stations.
