Description
This game is played similar to dominoes, only the matching ends are first and last letters of the CVC words.
Print on card stock and laminate the two sheets. Cut out individual cards. There are 48 cards altogether.
Place cards in a pile turned so that the word isn't visible and mix them up. Have each person playing take 6 cards. Determine who will go first. They must place two cards that match first letter of one word and last letter of the other. The game will continue with next player placing a card to match the first letter of the first card or the last letter of the second card. If they have no matches, they must draw cards from the pile until they obtain a match, then place it and read it. For greater difficulty, have child give a definition or use the word in a sentence. If there are no more cards to draw from the pile and a player has no matches, they will skip their turn and the next player will go.
No points need to be given in this game. The winner is the one who is able to run out of cards first.
The game is totally adaptable. Have fun!
