Description
This art project will help students create their own Story Quilts inspired by artist Faith Ringgold! Recommended for elementary students, this art lesson has four different modifications for a lesson that will likely take two to five class periods (depending on which modification you choose).
This resource is delivered as a PDF that includes information about the art lesson and procedures for the teacher, 8 pages of printable Quilt Design Templates, 2 blank Quilt Design templates, and 1 Patterns & Designs handout to help students draw their own designs.
Materials needed:
- 12"x18" Drawing Paper
- Pencils
- Crayons, markers, or other coloring material of choice
- Additional materials like scissors, gluesticks, 3" square stencils, or colored copy paper may be needed depending on which lesson modification you choose.
