Description
Do you need an assignment on heat transfer for your Chemistry or Physics students?
The amount of heat transferred to an object in heating or from an object in cooling can be described by the equation q = mC(Tf - Ti) where
q is the amount of heat
m is the mass of the object
C is the specific heat (or heat capacity depending on the term you use)
Tf is the final temperature
Ti is the initial temperature.
This concept is taught in both Chemistry and Physics courses. It often appears in both introductory and advanced courses including AP Chemistry and Physics
This worksheet looks at the heat transferred into or out of a single object, asking students to solve for one of the variables in the equation above.
Three versions of the worksheet are included.
1) All the problems are on two pages
2)The problems are spread over 3 pages with space to show work
3)The second 5 problems are labeled 1-5 and placed on a separate worksheet in case you would like to use this problem set as two separate assignments.
A worked answer key is included.
Check out the preview to see the worksheet.
