Description
I created this math based reader's theater resource because I have math group that strongly dislikes word problems - and is full of learners who prefer language arts! I had the idea to combine word problems with reader's theater - and…it worked! They really loved working through the addition problems via reading and acting.
I used these with my third and fourth graders. The addition problems are light - and not too difficult. I really wanted to focus on getting my students to work with and understand word problems, so I was not focused on creating overly challenging equations. With that said, it could be used for a variety of ages who need a boost in word problem confidence.
I found it to be a great way for them to understand how to pick out key elements of word problems as well. I hope yours enjoy it as much as mine did!
There are five small scripts, meaning five word problems in total. Answers are provided!
