This is a history passage with comprehension assessment on the Black Death, a deadly disease that spread across Europe between 1347 and 1352, killing millions of people. It was caused by a bacterium carried by fleas on rats. Symptoms included fever, vomiting, and swollen lymph nodes. The disease spread quickly and without limits, leading to widespread fear and death.
