Tatiana Grogan

Being a voracious reader, I often encourage my students to read about their interests and love suggesting new books! I really enjoy teaching new strategies and ways to think about math and am so proud of that lightbulb moment. When children come into my classroom with their diverse backgrounds and experiences, I think that is what makes learning remarkable for the whole class. Given the opportunity to share those experiences and being able to relate them to our content, will build more connections and create additional learning opportunities from each other.

The excitement of experiencing new ideas and learning is so very empowering. Which is one reason why I love teaching upper elementary. The opportunity to teach our students how to take more accountability and responsibility for their actions and education are skills that they can take with them beyond elementary school. My goal is for students to leave my room at the end of the year as confident and expressive humans who have the ability to think critically about the world around them.
