Do you need no-prep resources to use before winter break? These crossword and word search puzzles will meet your needs!
These ten printable and digital puzzles will provide your students with engaging enrichment during the month of December. You can also use puzzles in a sub plan or for early finishers.
5 Crossword Puzzles: Print or assign the digital version in a LMS like Google Classroom™. Use in Google Slides™ or download as a PowerPoint. A bank of draggable letters is included for students to answer clues thematically linked to the month. A key for each puzzle is included in the PDF.
5 Word Search Puzzles: Print or assign the digital version in a LMS like Google Classroom™. Use in Google Slides™ or download as a PowerPoint. A draggable highlighted rectangle can be resized for marking found words. A key for each puzzle is included in the PDF.
Suggestions for Use:
Make print copies to keep on hand for students who finish their work early.
Assign digital copies as part of a sub lesson plan or as extra credit.
Connect puzzles to existing units and have students generate word and clue lists for new puzzles.
Use as a springboard for independent research on the topics from the puzzles.
Give students an opportunity to work in pairs or groups for a game or timed competition.
Grab thematically linked reading passages or jigsaw puzzles from the store for extension.
