Description
This resource was created to provide scaffolded practice with writing narratives. Students are directed to read, continue and conclude a provided text. The format was designed to promote proficiency on standardized tests and to facilitate independent writing. Included are detailed teacher directions, three incomplete narratives with "Before You Write" activities, answer keys and a writing checklist. Students are directed to identify the setting, characters, and problem then brainstorm their ideas. This is a highly engaging activity that promotes creative thought. It typically takes two ELA class periods (2 days) to complete one narrative.
