This U.S. Presidents Art Lesson includes a grid drawing portrait activity and a biography notes graphic organizer. There are two options for flexibility - one with the graphic organizer and one without.
Students will love how successful they are at depicting the U.S. Presidents using this method! The grid method is a beneficial technique to help improve drawing accuracy. It helps students focus on drawing only the shapes within each grid square, which is often easier than trying to draw the entire subject all at the same time.
Each page includes the president's image with a light 20-square grid through it, as well as a short paragraph that states some biographical facts about the president (just enough information to complete the included graphic organizer if desired). The drawing space is also gridded in the same ratio as the president's image.
This activity requires NO PREP - just print and go! It also makes a great display for President's Day!
