These fourteen printable and digital puzzles will provide your students with engaging enrichment during the month of September. You can also use puzzles in a sub plan or for early finishers.
7 Crossword Puzzles: Print or assign the digital version in a LMS like Google Classroom™. Use in Google Slides™ or download as a PowerPoint. A bank of draggable letters is included for students to answer clues thematically linked to the month. A key for each puzzle is included in the PDF.
7 Word Search Puzzles: Print or assign the digital version in a LMS like Google Classroom™. Use in Google Slides™ or download as a PowerPoint. A draggable highlighted rectangle can be resized for marking found words. A key for each puzzle is included in the PDF.
Suggestions for Use:
Make print copies to keep on hand for students who finish their work early.
Assign digital copies as part of a sub lesson plan or as extra credit.
Connect puzzles to existing units and have students generate word and clue lists for new puzzles.
Use as a springboard for independent research on the topics from the puzzles.
Give students an opportunity to work in pairs or groups for a game or timed competition.
